Bloody Sunday was an event in 1905 in Russia during the Russian revolution when protesters were killed.

In an autocracy, the ruler, or czar, has complete rule over all aspects of life, economy, property, public affairs, and private affairs. The autocratic rulers were very restrictive on their people, for if the people were informed of how other people were living, they would try to overthrow the government, and in a autocracy, the most precious thing for a czar is to keep their power and hold over their people.
Karl Marx was a philosopher, and he used the Russian Revolution to his advantage to spread his ideas. He supported communism, and encouraged it. Those who supported Marx said that his beliefs gave the working class hope of a better life. They said that the workers would be inspired by an intellectual who was on their side and who was fighting their cause. In 1898, the Russian Social Democratic Party was formed to expand Marx’s beliefs in Russia.
Massacre in 1905 of peaceful protesters in Russia were massacred while trying to get reforms in Russia. Then the Russian military fired into the vast crowd of protesters killing between 500 and 1000 unarmed and peaceful protesters.

Autocracy kept Russia behind in the world for a long time, when the czar would decide not to revolutionize. When the czar was brutal, the people would suffer quite greatly, because the czar controlled every aspect of life.
Marx had based a great deal of his support on the industrial workers, and it needed people in Russia to organize these people. Some tried to organise trade unions that were easily infiltrated by the police. Lenin was later needed for the industrial workers to push through the revolution.
Bloody Sunday was the main, major event that started the Russian revolution due to the fact of the unnessiary killings of the peaceful people protesting. This event is what lead to the change in the Russian government.
